The basics
What technical SEO covers on a B2B site
Technical SEO is the work that lets search engines and AI crawlers find, render, understand and trust your pages. When it fails, nothing else in SEO can succeed.
On B2B sites the risks are specific. Marketing sites are often built in JavaScript frameworks by product engineers. Product data sits in PDFs. Documentation lives on a subdomain, regional versions on separate domains, and several teams can publish or break pages. A consumer technical audit looks for broken links and slow images; a B2B one also asks whether the pages that sell are the ones being indexed, and whether a release last month quietly removed half of them.
We work at the template level wherever possible, because one fix to a product or industry template improves every page built on it. Technical work is one workstream inside our B2B SEO services, and the first thing checked in the free B2B SEO audit.
Crawling
Crawling and indexation
- Index coverage. Which pages Google has indexed, which it has excluded and why, compared with the pages you need found.
- Rendering. Whether content and links built with JavaScript are visible to crawlers, not only to browsers.
- Canonicals and duplicates. One clear version of each page, so signals are not split across parameters, regions or print versions.
- Crawl waste. Faceted navigation, internal search and endless calendars that use up crawl budget on large sites.
- Robots rules and sitemaps. Nothing important blocked, everything important listed, and AI crawlers handled the way you have decided.
Architecture
Site architecture and internal linking
A sitewide menu that links to every page makes everything crawlable and nothing important. We add contextual links that show which pages are primary: pillars to supporting pages, supporting pages back up to the pillar, and every article to the money page it serves. URL structure, breadcrumbs and hub pages follow the same hierarchy, which helps both search engines and buyers.
Performance
Core Web Vitals and performance
Google's Core Web Vitals measure loading (Largest Contentful Paint), responsiveness (Interaction to Next Paint) and visual stability (Cumulative Layout Shift) from real visitors. They are a modest ranking factor and a larger conversion factor: a demo form that jumps as it loads loses leads whatever its position.
We prioritise by template and by traffic to money pages, fix the causes rather than the scores (oversized images, render-blocking scripts, late-loading fonts, third-party tags), and check the field data afterwards.
Structured data
Structured data
Schema markup tells search engines and AI systems what a page is about in a form they can read without guessing: the organisation, its services, products, people, articles, FAQs and breadcrumbs. On B2B sites we standardise one Organization entity, reference it from every service, product and article, and keep FAQ markup identical to the visible text so it stays eligible and trustworthy.
Migrations
Migration and relaunch QA
- 1
Before: inventory and redirect map
Every URL with traffic, links or rankings is mapped to its new home, and the map is tested on staging.
- 2
Before: crawl comparison
The old and new sites are crawled side by side to catch lost pages, changed titles, missing schema and broken links.
- 3
Launch day: checks
Redirects, robots rules, canonicals, sitemaps and analytics are checked live within hours of launch.
- 4
After: monitoring
Index coverage, rankings for money pages and organic leads are watched weekly until they settle.
Reporting
How we report technical work
| Field | What it contains |
|---|---|
| Issue | What is wrong, on which template or URLs, with evidence |
| Impact | Which money pages or leads it affects, and why it matters |
| Fix | What to change, written for your developers, with acceptance criteria |
| Priority | Effort against expected effect, so it can compete in your backlog |
| Status | Open, in progress, shipped and verified, in the monthly report |
Technical priorities are set by the wider B2B SEO strategy, so developer time goes to the fixes that affect pipeline first. Packages are on our pricing page.

Is something technical holding your money pages back?
The free audit checks crawling and indexing on the pages that matter most to your pipeline.
Process
How technical SEO work runs
The five steps, with the technical audit forming most of the baseline.
- 1
Free audit
A 20-minute review of your site, your competitors and your buyers' search terms. You get three specific opportunities.
- 2
Pipeline baseline
We connect Search Console, GA4 and your CRM and record where organic leads, opportunities and revenue stand today.
- 3
Strategy and intent map
Every keyword is assigned to a buying stage and a page. You approve the 90-day plan before any work starts.
- 4
Build and publish
Technical fixes, new and rewritten pages, digital PR. Work ships every month, in your CMS or as developer tickets.
- 5
Report and reallocate
A monthly pipeline report and a review call. What produces opportunities gets more budget; what does not gets cut.
Proof
How we measure pipeline from organic search
We are a new agency and have no client case study we are allowed to publish yet. So instead of a borrowed success story, here is exactly how results will be measured on your account, and what a published case study will contain once a client approves one.
Measurement method, not a case studyWhat the monthly report tracks
Method- Impressions for buyer termsGoogle Search Console

Metrics, data sources and what each one tells you
Impressions and clicks for buyer terms
Data source: Google Search Console
Whether the right pages are found for the terms buyers use
Positions for the agreed keyword set
Data source: Rank tracking, weekly
Progress on the terms in your intent map, not vanity terms
Leads from organic search
Data source: GA4 key events, after consent
Demo requests, trial sign-ups and enquiries that started in search
Sales-qualified opportunities
Data source: Your CRM (HubSpot, Salesforce or similar)
Which of those leads your sales team accepted
Pipeline value and closed revenue
Data source: Your CRM, matched on lead source
What organic search is worth in pounds, the number the board asks for
Mentions in AI answers
Data source: Monthly prompt checks in ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews
Whether you are cited when buyers ask an assistant instead of Google
This is our measurement method. It is not a client result.

The format every future case study follows is on the case studies page: client context, the constraint, what we did, real metrics with dates, and what we would do differently.

FAQ
Technical SEO: questions buyers ask
By effect on pipeline against effort. A problem on the template behind your product or service pages comes before a hundred broken links on old blog posts. Each issue is written up with its evidence, the pages it affects and the expected effect, so it can compete fairly in your developers' backlog.
Yes, that is the normal arrangement. We write tickets in your tracker with acceptance criteria, answer questions while they are built, and verify the fix once it ships. On the Scale package we also run working sessions with your developers on template-level changes.
It depends on the size and complexity of the site, so the scope and delivery date are agreed in writing before we start. The full technical and content audit is priced from £1,200. The free audit includes a quick technical check, done before the 20-minute call.
We write the fixes in enough detail that your developers can implement them, and we implement directly where we have CMS access and you agree. Code and template changes normally ship through your own developers or web agency, so they stay in control of releases.
Plan for three to six months before organic leads rise in a way your sales team notices, and six to twelve months for meaningful pipeline. Technical fixes and rewritten money pages can move sooner. New content on a site with little authority takes longer. We set the expected timeline for your site in the 90-day plan and do not promise a date we cannot control.
Our monthly SEO packages start from £1,500/month (Foundation), £3,000/month (Growth) and £5,500/month (Scale). Every price and what it includes is on the pricing page. There is no setup fee.
