The sector
SEO for logistics, and how B2B differs from parcel and consumer delivery
Logistics is a relationship business with thin margins and long contracts. A new customer is hard to win and, once integrated, slow to leave. Search is one of the few ways to be present at the rare moment a shipper is looking.
Consumer delivery SEO is about parcel tracking and price comparison at enormous volume. B2B logistics is the opposite: a supply-chain manager needs temperature-controlled storage near Felixstowe, or weekly groupage to Poland, and searches exactly that. The query is specific, geographic and commercial.
Buying cycle
The logistics buying cycle: spot needs and contract tenders
There are two cycles. Spot and ad hoc work moves fast: a shipper has freight to move, requests rates from a few providers and books within days. Contract logistics, such as warehousing, fulfilment or dedicated transport, is tendered. A request for quotation or full tender goes to a shortlist, followed by site visits, solution design, trial volumes and a contract that typically runs for several years.
Spot work is how many shippers first test a provider. A site that captures spot enquiries well is building the shortlist for future tenders.
Search behaviour
How shippers search
- By lane. Origin and destination: “freight forwarding UK to Germany”, “pallet delivery to Ireland”.
- By mode and service. Air, sea, road, rail; full load, groupage, express; customs clearance as a service in itself.
- By specialism. Temperature-controlled, hazardous, pharmaceutical, oversized, e-commerce fulfilment.
- By location. Warehousing and 3PL searches name a port, airport, motorway corridor or region.
- By regulation. Customs rules, documentation and border changes drive searches from shippers who then need a provider to handle them.
The combinations multiply quickly. A forwarder with ten lanes, four modes and three specialisms has more than a hundred legitimate page topics, which is why structure matters more here than volume of blog content.
Constraints
Accreditation, regulatory and practical constraints
- Accreditation claims. AEO status, BIFA membership, GDP compliance for pharmaceuticals, ADR capability for dangerous goods and BRCGS storage certification must be stated accurately, with scope.
- Customs content. Guidance on customs procedures goes out of date quickly and can cost a reader money if wrong. It needs an owner, a source and a review date.
- Rates and transit times. Published prices and times must be realistic or clearly indicative. Fuel surcharges and capacity change them weekly.
- Location pages must be real. Pages for depots, ports and regions should describe facilities and services you operate there, not doorway pages for places you only pass through.
- Customer names. Shippers often treat their logistics providers as confidential. Case studies need permission.

| Service | customs clearance agent felixstowe | Service page for that location |
| Specialism | temperature controlled warehousing east anglia | Facility page with specification |

Proof
How we measure pipeline from organic search
We are a new agency and have no client case study we are allowed to publish yet. So instead of a borrowed success story, here is exactly how results will be measured on your account, and what a published case study will contain once a client approves one.
Measurement method, not a case studyThe format every future case study follows is on the case studies page: client context, the constraint, what we did, real metrics with dates, and what we would do differently.

FAQ
SEO for logistics: questions buyers ask
One for each lane, service and facility you genuinely operate and can describe in useful detail. Twenty strong pages beat two hundred templated ones. Pages that differ only by place name tend not to rank and can harm the rest of the site.
It gets you invited. Tenders go to providers the shipper already knows about, often after a spot job or an earlier enquiry. Search visibility for your services and specialisms is how you become one of the names on that list.
Usually because they answer the question and stop. Each guide should link to the service that handles the problem and offer a simple next step, such as a rate request or a call with the customs team.
Plan for three to six months before organic leads rise in a way your sales team notices, and six to twelve months for meaningful pipeline. Technical fixes and rewritten money pages can move sooner. New content on a site with little authority takes longer. We set the expected timeline for your site in the 90-day plan and do not promise a date we cannot control.
Our monthly SEO packages start from £1,500/month (Foundation), £3,000/month (Growth) and £5,500/month (Scale). Every price and what it includes is on the pricing page. There is no setup fee.
